My Home Work Space

Tuesday, January 29, 2019

Maybe it's just me, but I always enjoy peeks into the spaces in people's homes that make them happiest. Even though this little corner of our kitchen, which I created as a work space and "command center," doesn't get as much use as I would like (I often end up plopping down on the couch or working from bed, since I work from home and at odd hours), I love it oh so much. It's bright and cozy at the same time and houses all of my favorite office products (cards, notebooks, various paper). Plus, the bulletin boards (which are actually two bulletin boards from Homegoods that my husband made into one big one) shows off things that make me happy -- photos of people I love, sayings, cards that I switch out, etc. The desk is from Target and the chair can be found here (I love how, because it's acrylic, it doesn't overwhelm the small space -- and it's more comfy than it looks!).

That marble white board houses our weekly menu, the letter sorter (old from CB2, but similar here) holds thank you notes, stamps, work stationary, and timely things like invitations for events coming up. Next to is it our address stamper, which I love and makes life so easy.

I love this little paper weekly planner I found at Target a while ago -- it's actually where I jot my blog post ideas for the week. And that photo is of my parents as teenagers, one of my very favorite touches. Oh, and here is the acrylic pen holder in the photo below.

Hope you enjoy this glimpse into my tiny office space! Do you have a work space in your home? I'd love to hear where it is and what you like best about it.

  2. I would love to sit at this desk! It looks like a pleasure to work at - it is something I'd love to create for myself at home too. It is a lovely grown up, feminine space that you have created - I love it! The acrylic chair to make the space look bigger is genius. And now I want an address stamper. Random question - have you always loved stationary, and did you ever buy the girls one of those play post office sets - because the stampers are the best part haha! I guess the love for stationary never dies. J xx

    1. You are sweet to say so, thank you, J! You NEED an address stamper in your life. I love that question, and I have ALWAYS loved stationary. I've kept a journal since I was nine, have always been obsessed with cards, little papers, all of it. My girls don't have an official play post office set BUT they have a box of random stationary and cards and envelopes that they adore playing with -- so I think it's safe to say I've passed the love on. Do you love stationary/office supplies too?
