Five on Friday: Welcome, March!

FRIDAY.

Actually, let me try that again.

FRIDAY!!!!!!!

That's better. ;) Another week has flown by and we have a full weekend ahead. I am most excited for tomorrow because it is Hadley's first mommy & me dance class. I did the same exact class with Carrington when she was H's age so I'm thrilled to have this time with my littlest. She loves music and dancing so I think she's going to adore it. Other than that, we have two kids' birthday parties on the schedule and hopefully in between we can fill with some downtime.

I'm linking up with some of my favorite reads today for Five on Friday!

1. In case you missed it... Check out my post from yesterday about feeling like a bad mom. It's just a short description of something that happened to me on Monday that helped to put things in perspective and it seemed like it resonated with a lot of other mommas. So if you're a parent (or even if you're not), take a look and please know that you're incredible.

2. Walmart. We have so many stores and shops near us that I hardly ever choose to head to Walmart (growing up in a smaller town it's where we often went). But about once a season I'll get this sudden urge to go there, and last night was one of those times. And every. single. time. I do, I find myself with a cart full of stuff. Let's be real... Walmart is kind of awesome! I finished the girls' Easter baskets, my nephew's basket, picked up a a dress, two shirts, and pants for the girls (all for $18), a pair of rainboots for C ($10!), a pair of summer sandals for H ($10 and they're my favorite kind for toddlers because they hold up, have a nice rubber sole, and go with everything), a birthday present, a wire basket ($5), and some plastic Easter eggs for a dollar. I came home and Steve was cracking up about how "invigorated" I was, haha!

3. Speaking of Easter. We decorated yesterday! The girls and I needed something to fill our afternoon so we went downstairs and gathered all of our Easter decor (besides Christmas, I think it's the holiday we have the most for!) and went to town. Since Easter is only a month away, I can definitely justify decorating while it's still technically winter. We needed some bright colors and signs of spring around here!

4. A weekend recipe. We're trying this Chicken Enchilada crockpot soup this weekend and I'm hoping for leftovers to carry us through to Sunday. I'll let you know if it's a winner!

5. Have a fun weekend. :)

  1. Hey! So now I need to know what brand of sandals. Also, where is Hadley doing dance? Lindsay’s first class is tomorrow at Tiny Tutus. Hope you’re doing well!

    1. I'm so happy we ran into each other on Saturday! It'll be fun to see you for a few minutes every weekend, haha. :) I actually linked the sandals in the post, so if you click right on "summer sandals" it'll take you to the exact page for the ones we got! They're from good ol' Walmart.

  2. I need to read Thursday's post because I have felt like a bad mom all weekend. I can't believe you got their baskets done. I need to get on it.

    1. I feel like I'm either way ahead of things or horribly last minute, lol - there is no in between! I hope reading last week's post helps put things in perspective for you. You are the furthest thing from a bad mom! <3

    1. It was SO good and there were lots of leftovers to enjoy! I completely agree about Walmart, so I always try to go in the later evening during a weekday when it's pretty empty. I got so giddy, haha!
