Saying Goodbye

Sunday, April 15, 2018

Hi friends. I apologize for the silence over the past week or so. I had a fun Five on Friday post planned for, you guessed it, Friday... but early on in the day we received some very sad news. My Uncle Jorge, one of my dad's brothers and the kindest soul in the world, passed away. He was 74.

I, along with anyone who ever met him even once, am truly heartbroken. Uncle Jorge was kind, gentle, caring, generous, hardworking, fun loving. I had the absolute privilege of being on his arm as he escorted me down the aisle on my wedding day. I hope he knew how much that meant to me. It meant the world.

Steve and I will be attending his funeral tomorrow. I appreciate all of you who have reached out with words of love, support, comfort, and encouragement for myself and my family. Please keep my Aunt Sue, his wife and best friend, in your thoughts as she navigates what is undoubtedly a profoundly sad time.

I will be back this week with some new posts and look forward to connecting with you all then. XO

  1. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your Uncle Jorge! He sounds like a truly lovely man and I teared up when I read your heartfelt description of him. All of my best wishes for you all for tomorrow's funeral - I know how difficult it is. Big Hugs, Joanne x

    1. Thank you so much, Joanne -- I know you know, and I wish you didn't. :( I appreciate those warm and caring thoughts. XO

    2. My prayers are with you and your family ❤️
